WIRE: NEW VIDEO BY THE DUST ENGINEERS

The video for “Lead [Pb]” is a slow, high contrast nod to film noir with intriguing shadow motion, a suspenseful narrative, and a stark black and white aesthetic that reflects the melted twang of the music. The song is from The Dust Engineers’ upcoming debut full-length, as yet untitled, slated for release late 2014.

Prior to this song – which began with a recording session that the band won as a reward for being voted Deli Magazine’s artist of the month when their Bail EP came out – and the upcoming debut full length, they have released two EPs. They perform regularly in NYC, most recently with a special show at the American Folk Art Museum. Whereas the Bail EP garnered comparisons to Dinosaur Jr. from My Old Kentucky Blog, “Lead [Pb]” shows a softer side of the band and is receiving comparisons to Red House Painters and Cowboy Junkies from Twang Nation, who calls the song, “a high-noon summer sun dappling through a glass of good bourbon.”
