WIRE: NEW SINGLE POSTED BY YONATAN

It should come as no surprise that after years of touring with co-founded band Monotonix, once hailed as perhaps the “most intense live rock band in the world”, that Yonatan Gat would carry that same intensity in his own act.   After five successful years, including one EP and two LP’s on Drag City and a world tour spanning 40 countries with his co-founded band, the New York-by-way-of-Tel-Aviv guitarist and composer took some time to himself, but not long before finding inspiration for a solo album while sound checking at a festival in Portugal.

NEW EP BY LINDSEY COHEN APRIL 29

Lindsey Cohen, the 17 year old New York based singer-songwriter will release her new EP, Grace Under Pressure on April 29, 2014.

Cohen has been performing and penning lyrics for several years. Her musical education began at a younger age, as she was raised listening to classic records from The Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, Eric Clapton and The Beatles.

The new EP, Grace Under Pressure, is a mature look at life through the eyes of Cohen, her voice acting as heavy undertow of emotion that pairs with the wise songwriting perfectly. Perhaps this maturity stems from growing up in the culturally rich concrete jungle of Manhattan, a city where street smarts and thick skin are developed about the time one starts to lose baby teeth. The grit is artfully balanced as Cohen remembers sitting atop her father’s shoulders hearing Elvis Costello perform in Central Park.

WIRE: WATCH O’BROTHER BRUTALLY MURDER EACH OTHER

Band practice is a pain in the ass. Everybody shows up late and then you spend the first half of it dicking around and talking about last night’s episode of Scandal. And then the bassist will go outside for 20 minutes to take a call from his girlfriend. But at the very least, it usually doesn’t end up in murder. In O’Brother’s case though, it does. Check out their new video for “Perilous Love” and see where things go wrong.
